"When artists begin to process, depict and interpret the body"

The group exhibition Corporeality is opened in the City Art Gallery of Ljubljana. According to curator Sarival Sosič, the body is certainly the field of greatest possible expressiveness, while corporeality is a result of diverse body functions. "Namely, corporeality is the development of a body from being in a static state or form into something dynamic, dramatic, picturesque and nimble. Through a creative process corporeality becomes the main medium of narration, information and final impressions."

"As written in the exhibition catalogue by the art historian Sosič, artists develop images through various art practices by transfiguring everyday elements in life into imaginary concepts. In the artworks' final elementary qualities the function of these concepts is an active discourse, which should enable and offer the widest possibility of interpretations, connected to personal stories and social actions." "The individual's body and its corporeality as a reaction to given circumstances create a mechanism, which operates in condensed visual meanings, expressiveness in form of the variety of images and in recognisable authorial concepts, which are performed through reactions of corporeality's crucial elements."
