After its successful presentation at the Plečnik House, the exhibition 'Master Woodcarver Maks Bergant and Plečnik: The Charm of Wood' moved to Kamnik – the town where Bergant spent most of his creative life. Its display at the Inter-municipal Museum Kamnik at Zaprice Castle is both a tribute to a local artist and an opportunity for visitors to discover a valuable heritage that was born in Kamnik yet transcended local boundaries.
As part of this year’s project, inspired by Plečnik’s legacy and intertwined with contemporary art, we have invited the renowned Mexican artist Iñaki Bonillas and the internationally engaged Slovenian curator Tevž Logar to collaborate. The central theme of Bonillas’s intervention and exhibition is memory and its architectural reconstruction, through which we resist forgetting.

We are pleased to announce that you can take home a piece of the exhibition Hiša Plečnik House × Iñaki Bonillas: ARS MEMORIAE! The Plečnik House shop is selling a selection of unique works of art by Mexican artist Iñaki Bonillas, created during the process of preparing the exhibition.
In early November 2025, Plečnik House joined the network of UNICEF Safe Points – places where children and young people are always welcome, listened to, and safe.
As part of his official visit to Slovenia, the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, visited the Plečnik House yesterday, and stated, “It was an honour to visit the home of the man whose exceptional works marked the Prague Castle…”
Plečnik House
Walking through Ljubljana it is impossible to ignore the abundance of arrangements and architectural creations made by the Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik. Born in Ljubljana, Plečnik learned his craft in Vienna and acquired a creative broadness of mind in Prague. He deftly implemented his skills as he returned to Ljubljana, where he created the phenomenon now called Plečnik’s Ljubljana. Many of his ideas were conceived in his home, a house in Trnovo, a monument of national importance since 2009 and today a public museum. You are kindly invited to visit the Plečnik House and learn about this modest man responsible for such monumental architecture. Enter the house in which Plečnik’s Ljubljana was created!

Visits of the original Plečnik’s home are only possible with a guided tour that begins every full hour. In case the visitors on the guided tours come from different countries, each tour is conducted in two languages – Slovenian and English.
